Circle K announces return of Christmas car wash charity initiative to support the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation
19/12/2022
Soccer star and broadcaster Stephanie Roche officially launches this year’s car wash fundraising initiative that will see at least €30,000 donated to the children’s charity.
Circle K, Ireland’s largest forecourt and convenience retailer, has today announced the return of its Christmas car wash charity initiative at sites nationwide, excluding Circle K Express. The initiative, which first launched last year, will once again see funds raised go directly to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, an Irish charity that funds and delivers specialist in-home nursing and end-of-life care, with no waiting list, for children under six in communities across Ireland.
From Monday 19th December to Saturday 24th December 2022 inclusive, €1 from every car wash purchased at a Circle K, excluding Circle K Express, will automatically be donated to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. Not only is Christmas the most wonderful time of the year, but according to new data from Circle K, it is also the most popular time of the year to visit a car wash. The retailer expects that a fifth (20%) more motorists in Ireland will wash their cars this December compared to any other time this year. By visiting a Circle K car wash in the week before Christmas, not only can motorists ensure that their vehicle is looking its best before the festive season, but also support a very important cause.
This year, the Christmas car wash initiative, hopes to raise at least €30,000 in much-needed funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, funding 1,667 hours of specialist home nursing care support for over 400 children currently under Jack and Jill’s care across the country. The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is an Irish children’s charity that funds and delivers specialist home nursing, respite support, and end-of-life care for children from birth to six years of age who have highly complex and life-limiting medical conditions. Its mission is to empower parents to care for their child at home because there is no care like home care for a Jack and Jill child, especially at Christmas time.
Commenting on the initiative, Judy Glover, Senior Market Director at Circle K Ireland added: “We are delighted to announce that Circle K will once again be running a car wash initiative to raise much-needed funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation this Christmas. Last year’s initiative went a long way in supporting the invaluable work that the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation provides to families across Ireland, and we believe this year’s campaign will do the same. December is the most popular time for motorists to visit a car wash in Ireland, and now it’s easier than ever to have your car looking its best for the holidays while supporting an important cause, as between the 19th-24th of this month, we’ll donate to Jack and Jill on your behalf’’.
Carmel Doyle, CEO of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation added: ‘’So many families rely on our support, and we want to thank our partner Circle K for their support this Christmas and throughout the whole year. By visiting your local Circle K car wash, not only will your car benefit, but there’s also a care benefit to local Jack and Jill families. It’s a ‘win win’ situation for motorists, and by helping us reach our €30,000 target with Circle K, this will translate into 4 hours of specialist home nursing care for each one of our 400 families, a wonderful gift of nursing hours by simply washing your car and getting another thing checked off your Christmas to do list!’’.
Soccer star and broadcaster Stephanie Roche was at Circle K Martello to officially launch this year’s fundraising initiative. Stephanie concluded: “I was delighted to be asked by Circle K and the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation to support this initiative. I’ll be travelling a lot during the week before Christmas, as I’ve already begun my rehearsals for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and will be practising my ballroom dancing moves any chance I can get! I’ll definitely be visiting a Circle K car wash to make sure my car looks clean before Christmas Day, and it’s fantastic that Circle K has made it so easy to donate to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. Whether you enjoy singing along to the radio or enjoy some peaceful time to yourself while your car gets washed; you can cherish those moments even more in the week before Christmas knowing you’re supporting children across Ireland with life-limiting conditions at your local Circle K car wash’’.
